Traditional Portuguese, Malaysian, Bhutanese and Turkish food are just some of the delicacies on offer at this weekend’s Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival.

The festival turns 20 this year and the packed entertainment lineup includes performances from more than 30 countries, including Peru, Poland, India and the Philippines.

“It’s that time of year where we embrace the diversity of our region with a festival of food, dance and culture,” said Mayor Kenrick Winchester.

“We’ll have two stages operating throughout the day and it’s set to be an awesome day out for the whole family.”

The Mayor thanked the Queanbeyan Multicultural Centre for collaborating with council year after year to produce a festival loved by the people of the Queanbeyan-Palerang region.

“You can eat your way around the world and also enjoy some Australian favourites this weekend,” he said.

“There are plenty of activities for the kids including crafts, jumping castles, rock climbing, face painting, and so much more.”
