Here’s what happened when I visited South Jerrabomberra for the first time
It’s hard to explain, but the first time I ever drove along Environa Drive and into South Jerrabomberra, it felt like coming home.
I come from generations of farming families across the Monaro and the region’s distinctive grasses, eucalypts and exposed rock on top of its hills are all evident at South Jerrabomberra. For me, it feels like the place where Canberra and the Snowies meet.

South Jerrabomberra has been the vision of developer Village Building Co. for more than 35 years. Today, the masterplanned community – which will one day be home to 4,000 residents – is coming to life from the ground up. It’s a busy hub of construction as future amenity and homes become a reality.
The newest release of land at South Jerrabomberra is Pemberton Rise, a stunning set of blocks with panoramic views of the Brindabellas. Blocks range in size from 732sqm to an impressive 2067sqm, and all are immersed in nature.

From the viewing platform at Pemberton Rise, Village Building Co, General Manager Jamie Cregan says: “Can you picture a better spot to enjoy your morning coffee?” I honestly can’t.
According to Jamie, the blocks at Pemberton Rise offer a rare opportunity to create a spacious, modern home with room to live, entertain, and grow.
“Whether you’re looking to build a larger family home, design the ultimate entertainer’s retreat, or create a private sanctuary surrounded by nature, Pemberton Rise has something for every lifestyle,” Jamie says.

“You really have the space to create a home that reflects your lifestyle. With larger backyards, spacious floor plans, and the flexibility to design a home that suits your needs, it’s a chance to build something truly special.”
From the viewing platform at Pemberton Rise, Jamie takes me on a tour of South Jerrabomberra itself. The future amenity being built is astounding. The suburb will one day be home to a stunning community centre, splash park, nature and formal play spaces and a learn-to-ride facility.

Other amenities near completion include:
- Town park
- Dog park
- Community orchard
- Community gardens
- Community greenspace
- Outdoor gym
- Half-court basketball.

The future town centre will include retail and grocery stores, cafés and dining experiences, health and wellness facilities, and personal services.
Jamie says Pemberton Rise offers ‘the best of both worlds’.
“It’s a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, while being just minutes from major town centres and everyday essentials.”

Pemberton Rise is located 8 minutes from the Queanbeyan CBD, 15 minutes from the airport, Kingston and Manuka, and 20 minutes from Civic and Woden. The price guide for blocks ranges from $679,900 to $960,900.
The viewing platform can be accessed by appointment only between 2pm-4pm on Saturdays.
