Last minute Christmas shopping? Give the gift of art from Canberra’s first ever online gallery

Canberra’s first and only online art gallery, Canberra.Art has launched this month.

Officially launching just in time for Christmas gifting, is Canberra.Art, an online gallery and print store that sells art prints by local Canberra artists and photographers and delivers them to your front door.

Canberra.Art makes local art accessible to everyday people, while also reducing the burden on creatives looking to sell art prints. It’s the only online source where you can find and purchase artworks and photographs by local Canberra creatives in a single place. The online platform is the brainchild of Korske Ara and his creative team from fine art print studio, Lucent Imaging.

“Since we started printing artworks and photographs for our creative community in 2018, we’ve heard both
sides of the story, creatives looking for a way to share their work with the broader community and people looking for a place to buy local art prints to support our local creatives,” says Mr Ara, founder of Lucent
Imaging and Canberra.Art.

“Talking to both sides, who are often in different circles, we realised that we could help create a way to connect the seekers with the creators. We are passionate about promoting the visual arts industry and the rights of artists here in Canberra.”

From their Canberra-based printing studio, Canberra.Art works by licencing artworks from local creatives, turning them into high-quality art prints for everyday people and delivering them to your door.

“We believe in building genuine relationships within our community. Through Canberra.Art we want to connect local creatives with everyday people, local industry and government, making it easier to choose
local art prints for their homes and workspaces.

“Canberra.Art was made specifically for Canberra artists and photographers. We have an incredible level of talent here and we want to help share this with the wider community via quality art prints, printed locally,” he adds.

Selling their work via Canberra.Art include the likes of Valentyna Crane, Liss Kamp, Sarah Richards and Katherine Appleby, known for their beautiful artworks. Paul Summerfield and Stuart McMillen feature their
digital art and Dan Cusack, Tim Bean, Simon Thorpe present their collections of local and regional photographs.

Prints on Canberra.Art start from around $69 and make for the perfect Christmas gift that also supports the local economy.

“Canberra.Art is designed for anyone who lives or works in an environment that has blank walls. Great art can completely transform a space, lift your mood and inspire creativity.

Everyone deserves to be surrounded by art, especially art that’s been locally created and printed,” says Mr Ara.

“We also have gift certificates for open gifting options, in case you’re unsure of a person’s taste! This is also an ideal housewarming gift for anyone moving into a new home.
