Bring your appetite: Queanbeyan’s Multicultural Festival is serving up 30+ cuisines
There’s something about a good old-fashioned multicultural festival that feels like a warm hug and a full stomach rolled into one. And Queanbeyan’s about to dish up exactly that.
Dust off the picnic rug, text the group chat and bring your appetite – the Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival is back.
On Saturday 28 March 2026, Town Park will once again transform into a mini global village: think music, dance, food and an awesome community vibe. According to festival organisers, this year’s event isn’t just a nice day out, it’s a reflection of our city itself.

“Queanbeyan is full of rich and diverse communities that bring incredible vibrancy, food, culture and celebrations to our local community,” says Zakia Patel, Executive Director, Multicultural Hub Canberra & Queanbeyan.
“Each year, the Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival is a wonderful opportunity to showcase and share this with the broader Queanbeyan-Palerang community. This year attendees will have the opportunity to watch local performances, taste delicious cultural food and participate in engaging workshops.”
Mayor Kenrick Winchester says he’d love to see a huge turn-out for this year’s event.

“I love this time of year, where we once again embrace the diversity of our region with a festival of food, dance and culture,” Councillor Winchester says.
“The beautiful Queanbeyan Park plays host to this event, and we’re inviting everyone to come along from 10am to 4pm for this welcoming friendly-family event.”
So bring the kids, your mum and even that friend who’s “not really into crowds” but absolutely will be once they’re holding a plate of gozleme and watching lion dancers backflip to the beat of drums.

Start your day by listening to Scottish bagpipes while eating Tibetan Momos, or drink fresh juice while listening to harmonious singing, stirring chants and the energetic haka from Te Rere O Te Tarakako.
Fill your belly with gozleme or chicken rendang, and treat yourself to biscotti, obela or buttermilk doughnuts while watching the stage fill with the atmosphere of Ukrainian villages in festive time with energetic Ukrainian Dance Group.
With more than 30 food stalls and over six hours of performances, it’s a choose-your-own-adventure for your senses.
And to top it off, there’s free parking at the Queanbeyan Showground, just a short stroll away.
